HOLD UP
Hold-UP is the puzzle game I made and released on the iOS AppStore after working on it during my free time for over 1.5 year.
Working on a project alone during my free time was a real challenge. I had some low motivation moments, but what an accomplishement to release a game on my own. I did everything in the game except the audio.
WALKTHROUGH
In Hold UP, you have 75 levels and 15 secret levels split in 3 worlds, each world teaching new mechanics !
In world 1, you are introduced to the simplest actions and the loop action mechanic.

In world 2, you learn about barriers opening with buttons and enemy cars.

And finally in world 3, you discover rotating bridges.

After working on the game for over 1.5 year, I had to cut some content to be able to release it.
As a result, some mechanics I started developing were never released.
For example, world 4 was supposed to introduce underground roads that you need to memorize.

Another example is the level editor. The goal was to be able to create any level you want and share it with the community. Here is an early development video captured in the Unity Editor.
I wanted to create a bigger goal than just completing levels. So my idea was to create a collection of skins for your truck that you can buy with in-game currency.
You have different ways to collect this currency: you can complete levels, find secrets ones or come back to the game every 24 hours.
The game counts a total of 27 skins + 1 special gold skin if you manage to complete 25 levels on first try.

What's a game without audio ?
For my game, I worked with Sam Shandley for the music theme. We created 2 versions, one for the main menu and one when in levels with more percussions.
The sound design was made by Nicolas Bredin. We worked on something cute and bubbly to fit the game's visuals.
I also had to work on visuals for the store page. I made an App Icon, with its gold variant for the last update introducing gold levels and a new special gold skin.
And a lot of achievement icons for the Game Center.
